Black Designers of Canada Partners with FUJIFILM Printlife to Launch BDC Magazine, Advancing a National Economic Consortium of Black Canadian Creative Talent

BDC Magazine has partnered with FUJIFILM Printlife to produce the inaugural print edition of BDC Magazine, a luxury lifestyle publication celebrating design and culture through a distinctly Canadian lens. The collaboration brings together BDC’s mission-driven storytelling with Printlife’s expertise in premium digital print solutions to amplify Black Canadian creative voices.

Curated with intention, BDC Magazine merges storytelling, design, and photography to spotlight leading Black designers alongside industry allies and global influences shaping contemporary design culture. Through this partnership, BDC members gain access to professional-grade printing services that support lookbooks, brand collateral, and visual campaigns, while Printlife deepens its engagement with Canada’s creative community.

“In today’s digital world, print offers a rare sense of connection and permanence,” said George Sully, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of BDC Magazine. “FUJIFILM Printlife understands that craftsmanship and storytelling go hand in hand. Together, we’re creating something tactile, collectible, and true to the spirit of Canadian design.”

To further support the BDC community of more than 300 members, FUJIFILM Printlife will introduce an exclusive discount code, reinforcing long-term collaboration and access to high-quality print craftsmanship.

“FUJIFILM Printlife is excited to collaborate with Black Designers of Canada,” said Tevfik Djamgouz, Vice President, Printing Solutions Division at FUJIFILM Canada Inc. “This initiative is about more than printing; it’s about supporting creative expression and connecting with a vibrant community of design professionals shaping the future of Canadian style.”

Through this partnership, BDC Magazine will serve as both a cultural document and a dynamic platform for creative exchange—leveraging Printlife’s innovative printing technology to reflect the craftsmanship, vision, and impact of Canada’s design community.

BDC Magazine will be produced quarterly and distributed across select hotels, galleries, retailers, and creative institutions nationwide. Each issue will serve as both a cultural document and a commercial platform, presenting stories and visual narratives that elevate the voices, brands, and businesses shaping the future of Canadian design.

BDC Magazine is proudly owned and operated by Design Embassy Group.
