An artist since childhood, Sabre Jewelry designer, Lana Ogilvie, studied illustration and print making at the Art Gallery of Ontario. She pursued her Fine Art studies as an Illustrator in Montreal at Concordia University and Jewelry studies at Studio Jewelers, the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Gemological Institute of America in New York.
The move into jewelry was born from a creative need. After studying to be a fine jeweler, Lana started Sabre Jewelry. Drawing on inspiration from organic forms, SABRE Jewelry plays with the illusion of movement.
“I like to create movement and fluidity in my work. Movement of lines, movement of the eye or even the perception of movement. I enjoy the opposing idea of a hard, static material yielding and appearing to be fluid and in motion. I think of myself first as an artist and jewelry as my current medium.’ Sabre Jewelry is designed in New York City.
