Multidisciplinary designer, entrepreneur and activist George Sully, launches the first ever Canadian index of Black designers in Canada.

Black Designers of Canada (BDC) is a pivotal non-profit organization established to spotlight and support Black designers across various disciplines, including fashion, graphic design, and interior design. Formed in response to the social justice movements of 2020, BDC serves as Canada’s first comprehensive index of Black creative professionals. The BDC advocates for equity and visibility in the design industry, providing a platform for showcasing talent and fostering inclusivity. Through networking, professional development, and mentorship, BDC empowers Black designers, pushing the industry towards greater diversity and celebrating the unique contributions of its members to Canadian and global design landscapes.
